Free beta, small groups
Track your money by sending a message.
Write irish pub 4.50 to the pago bot on Telegram. It saves the expense in the right category, with today's date. The web app then shows you where your money went.
Thanks, you're on the list.
We'll email you when there's a place in the next test group. Know someone who still keeps their expenses in a notes app? Send them this page.
Why it exists
Money apps ask for too much. So we stopped using them.
Most money apps want forms, bank links and ten taps for every coffee. That works for a week. Then you stop logging, and the numbers stop meaning anything.
So we built the smallest thing that would keep us going: a chat where you type what you spent, the way you'd tell a friend. pago reads it, picks the category and saves it. If it guesses wrong, you fix it with one tap.
Then, once a week, it tells you how the week went. That's most of it. Few features, all of them useful.
The real app
A quiet web app for when you want the full picture.
These are screenshots of pago as it is today. It works on desktop and on your phone.

What it does
The short list.
Everything here works today. Nothing on this page is a promise for later.
Add by chat
Send "irish pub 4.50" or "january salary 3k 10/01". Dates like "yesterday" work. Any language works.
Sorts it for you
17 expense categories and 2 for income. pago picks one, you can change it with a tap.
Catches doubles
If a new expense looks like one you saved recently, pago asks before saving it twice.
Weekly and monthly recaps
Last week's summary every Monday, last month's on the 1st. Ask "show me this week" any time.
One monthly budget
Set one limit. The bot warns you once when you get close, and again if you go over.
Recurring items
Rent, subscriptions, salary: set them once in the web app and pago adds them every month.
Search and reports
Full text search across all your years, and reports by week, month and year.
Your data, your way out
Export every transaction as a CSV file, any time. Sign in with a passkey, no password.
What it does not do
On purpose.
Leaving things out is what keeps pago fast to use.
bank links
pago never connects to your bank. You tell it what you spent, and only that is stored.
investments
No stocks, no net worth, no crypto. Just money in and money out.
budget maze
One monthly limit, not a budget per category to keep up to date.
shared wallets
It's for one person's money. Splitting bills with friends is a different app.
ads or data selling
pago will be a small paid app. That's how it pays for itself.
How the beta works
Free while we test. Small and paid after.
Leave your email
One field. We only use it for the beta and the launch.
Get an invite
We let people in small groups, so we can answer everyone. You'll need a Telegram account.
Use it, tell us
The beta is free. Tell us what's annoying and what's missing.
Hear first at launch
pago will then be a small paid app. Testers hear about it before anyone else.
Try logging a week of spending with one message each.
Join the beta and we'll send you an invite when the next group opens.
